Caerleon
in Bloom ( CIB) was originally introduced thanks to Caerleon Labour
Councillors Rosemary Butler, now Assembly Member for Newport West, Cliff
Suller and Jim Kirkwood.
A committee was set up and included many local volunteers. Thanks to
their hard work and commitment. It became hugely successful for many
years, providing hanging baskets, planters, amberols, flower beds around
Caerleon and also included a highly popular annual competition.
In 2004 CIB was resurrected by the incoming Labour Councillors ; Cliff
Suller, Gail Giles and Paul Huntley with the help of Rosemary Butler
AM, Newport City Council and UWN, Caerleon.
A new committee has been formed who are proving to be dynamic, enthusiastic
and hard working. Caerleon is blooming again and this year ( 2007) the
Annual competition has been restarted.

( paid for), UWN Caerleon Campus assist with provision of some plants,
local businesses, societies, committees and residents are also providing
much needed financial help.
